“Dancing with the Stars” week 6 elimination aired Tuesday, April 27 on ABC. This week, “The Bachelor” star Jake Pavelka and professional dancer Chelsie Hightower were voted off.
Host and producer of Style Network’s home makeover show, Clean House Niecy Nash and her partner Louis Van Amstel joined Jake Pavelka and Chelsie Hightower in the bottom two this week. Nicey Nash and Louis Van Amstel were relieved to find they were safe and would be moving on to perform on next week’s show.
The teary-eyed bachelor said it was harder to say goodbye than he ever imagined. He thanked all the other contestants, “his family” as well as his dance partner Chelsie. Jake Pavelka even turned to Chelsie Hightower and called her one of his “best friends”. The emotional moment was surprising for “Dancing with the Stars” and may have made some voters wish they had voted differently.
“Chelsie was my secret weapon this season,” Pavelka told press backstage, “I’m sorry we didn’t get a win. Chelsie’s good enough to win this. She deserved to win.”
He is also quoted on ABC.com saying, “I was so honored to be here. I enjoyed every second of this…thank you for keeping me here for six episodes. I can’t even put into words how much I’ve enjoyed this.”
Professional dancer Chelsie Hightower will continue to appear on the “Dancing with the Stars” results shows on Tuesdays.
“Jake and I will be at the finale, too,” Chelsie Hightower said. “We’ve worked our butts off. We have worked so hard. Now, I’ll have some down time and will enjoy that.”
Many thought Pamela Anderson and her partner, professional dancer Damian Whitewood, would be going home this week as she was in the bottom two last week with Kate Gosselin and Tony Dovolani. Pamela Anderson and Damian Whitewood were not only safe this week, they weren’t even in the bottom two.
After bringing “Dancing with the Stars” ratings to record breaking heights, the departure of Kate Gosselin last week took a heavy toll on the “Dancing with the Stars” viewership. There were reportedly 800,000 less viewers of the show in week six. For those that tuned out after her elimination, Kate Gosselin will be brought back for the finale show as they do with all the dancers every year.
The remaining six celebrities that will continue on and perform on the week seven show are Erin Andrews, Nicole Scherzinger, Evan Lysacek, Chad Ochocinco, Niecy Nash and Pamela Anderson. “Dancing with Stars” week seven elimination episode will air Tuesday, May 4 at 7/8C on ABC.
