The 2010 Country Music Television Music Awards show took place Wednesday, June 9, in Nashville, Tennessee. Carrie Underwood was the big winner this year, taking home two awards.
Musician Kid Rock hosted the 2010 CMT Music Awards and started the show with a performance of his hits Cowboy and Bawitdaba.
Other performances of the night included Miranda Lambert singing White Liar, Tim McGraw performing Southern Voice, Brad Paisley singing American Saturday Night, Jamey Johnson singing Back to Macon with Little Big Town and twins Kate and Kasey Coppola, LeAnn Rimes performing Swingin’, Toby Keith singing American Ride, Zac Brown Band performing Free, Carrie Underwood singing Undo It, John Mayer and Keith Urban for a special performance and the night ended with Lady Antebellum performing Stars Tonight.

CMT Performance of the Year went to Carrie Underwood for Temporary Home (from Invitation Only)
USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year went to Luke Bryan (seen on Celebrity Apprentice last season) for his song Do I
Director of the Year went to Shaun Silva who has directed Indian Summer, Out Last Night, Rain Is a Good Thing, Here Comes Goodbye, Summer Nights, Living for the Night, Nightswimming/Joey, Keep You, I’m Alive, Do I videos.
Carrie Underwood was sure to thank her fans in her acceptance speech for Video of the Year, saying “Wow. Awesome fans. Awesome, awesome, amazing, awesome. God bless you guys, you are the best!”
Before accepting her awards, Carrie Underwood kissed her fiance, NHL star Mike Fisher.
“It’s great having him there!” she said after the show. “No matter what happens, I go home a winner. I have the biggest prize, the guy sitting next to me. Win or lose, he is proud of me. Of course, it’s nice to share the good times too!”
When asked about how the wedding plans were coming along, Carrie Underwood responded, “We are still working on everything. Goodness, I haven’t been to too many weddings. I guess the unique thing will be me and Mike. We’ve never been married before so it won’t be like any one else’s wedding.”
