World Cup 2010: Netherlands and Brazil Win

The 2010 FIFA World Cup continued Monday, June 28 in South Africa. June 28 matches included Netherlands vs Slovakia and Brazil vs Chile.

Netherlands beat Slovakia 2-1 in Stage 2 on Monday.

Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder scored the two goals for the Netherlands. Robert Vittek scored the one goal for Slovakia.

“We played a difficult match. Main thing is, we are through,” Arjen Robben of the Netherlands said. “Probably the perfect game has still to come.”

“We played with heart and courage and we are proud that we made it to the second round, but the better team advanced,” Vladimir Weiss of Slovakia said.

Brazil won, beating Chile 3-0.

Juan, Luis Fabiano and Robinho scored the three goals for Brazil.

“It was a very good performance for Brazil,” playmaker Kaka said. “I’m happy with how we played. It shows that we are improving after each match, just as planned.”

Brazil will now move on to face the Dutch.

“Now it’s a match between two traditional teams with great players,” Brazil captain Lucio said. “Now the matches will get harder and harder.”

2010 FIFA World Cup June 29 matches include Paraguay vs Japan and Spain vs Portugal.
