Judge Marsha Revel sentenced actress Lindsay Lohan to 90 days in jail for violation of her probation in the Beverly Hills, California, courtroom, on Tuesday, July 9.
Judge Marsha Revel gave Lohan three 30-day sentences and also ordered her to spend 90 days in a locked-down drug rehabilitation facility.
“I did everything I was told to do, I thought I was being compliant,” Lindsay Lohan said to the judge through tears. “I’m not taking this as a joke, it’s my life and career. I don’t want you to think I don’t respect you and your terms.”
Lohan’s tearful plea was not going to work on Judge Revel, who cited many instances where Lohan was in violation.
“There were a number of instances of [Lohan] not taking things seriously,” Revel said. “It’s like someone who cheats but doesn’t think it’s cheating if they don’t get caught.”
Lohan was on probation for two drunk driving incidents in 2007.
Many believe that Lindsay Lohan’s fingernail art did nothing in her favor. Lohan appeared in court on Tuesday with “F*** U” painted on her middle finger. Definitely sending a different message than her pleading cries to the judge did.
Lindsay Lohan is scheduled to begin her jail sentence on July 20, 2010. It is likely she will serve only a quarter of her sentence due to jail overcrowding.
