According to the most recent comScore* reports, Facebook is now the third largest video site in the United States behind Google sites (#1) and Yahoo! sites (#2).
Facebook.com moved up one position to the third spot in July with 46.6 million viewers, compared to 43 million viewers in June.
Google sites have always led the pack with 143.2 million unique viewers for the month of July. No surprise considering YouTube is a Google site. Yahoo! Sites came in with 55.1 million for the month of June. Facebook is not far behind Yahoo! and could potentially catch them for the number two spot at some point.
It is interesting to see Facebook becoming a video destination for U.S users. The sharing of videos via Facebook is growing and will undoubtedly continue to grow.
Online video watching is growing as a whole, with 178 million viewers in July – up from 177 million total viewers in June.
