Prominent Beverly Hills celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Frank Ryan, known for Heidi Montag’s procedures, was killed in a car crash Monday, August 16 in Los Angeles.
Fifty-year-old Frank Ryan’s 1995 Jeep Wrangler went over the side of Pacific Coast Highway and landed on it’s roof on rocks yesterday around 4:30 p.m. Lifeguards tried to help Ryan, who was trapped in the vehicle and had major head injuries, but he was pronounced dead on the scene.
Shortly before the crash, Ryan Tweeted, “After 25 years of driving by, I finally hiked to the top of the giant sand dune on the pch west of Malibu. Much harder than it looks! Whew!”
Ryan tweeted after that, “Border collie jill surveying the view from atop the sand dune,” posting the picture below with his Tweet.
According to law enforcement, Ryan’s dog was found in the ocean and seriously injured. The dog was taken to a local veterinary hospital. There is no word on the dog’s condition at this time.
Frank Ryan’s clients included celebrities such as Adrianne Curry, Kristin Cavallari, Gene Simmons, Shauna Sand, Vince Neil and of course Heidi Montag.
Heidi Montag expressed her devastation from this news via Twitter, saying, “I am devastated to hear the news of Dr. Frank Ryan’s death. He was the most amazing person I have ever known.
“He was an angel and changed my life and the lives of everyone he met. He was the most brilliant talented surgeon who will ever exist. Dr. Frank Ryan changed the world.”
She concluded writing, “My thoughts and prayers go out to his mother, family, friends, and anyone who was ever blessed enough to meet him. He is in a better place.”
In a statement to TMZ, Janice Dickinson’s rep says, “Janice is deeply, deeply anguished! She is stunned and wants the world to know what a genius Dr. Ryan was. He was a friend and my love goes out to his mother and the rest of the family.”
Ventura County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy on Dr. Frank Ryan to determine if drugs or alcohol played a role in his death.
