Top Fantasy Football Rookies

It’s that time of year again – Fantasy Football leagues are starting up across the nation, and everyone wants to know which rookies are worth drafting in the later rounds. Check out our list of the top NFL rookies to consider for your fantasy team.

1. Ryan Matthews, RB, San Deigo Chargers: The 12th overall 2010 NFL draft pick from Fresno State is our top pick for rookies this year. Matthews was the NCAA’s leading rusher last year and should do well in his first professional season.

2. Jahvid Best, RB, Detroit Lions: There is a good chance that Best, rookie from University of California, will be the starting main man for the Detroit Lions. That means he will likely contribute a fair amount of points to your fantasy team.

3. C.J. Spiller, RB, Buffalo Bills: Spiller, from Clemson, is very fast with touchdown speed. His quickness is expected to get him some big plays.

4. Dez Bryant, WR, Dallas Cowboys: Despite the ankle sprain, Dez Bryant from Oklahoma State, is still a great pick for the 2010 season. He should be playing by the first game and has a solid offense to support him.

5. Montario Hardesty, RB, Cleveland Browns: Hardesty, drafted out of Tennessee, is likely to get a lot of touches this season. The Browns don’t have the strongest passing game, so the running backs should see a lot of plays.

6. Golden Tate, WR, Seattle Seahawks: Golden Tate, a rookie from Notre Dame, has a chance to start in Seattle and is someone who is looking to prove himself. So he could be an interesting player to keep an eye on.

7. Sam Bradford, QB, St. Louis Rams: Bradford, of Oklahoma, was the number one overall draft pick in April. He has a chance to start in St. Louis, and even if he doesn’t, he is sure to get some plays.

8. Dexter McCluster, WR, Kansas City Chiefs: McCluster of Mississippi, has reportedly been practicing at the running back position. His versatility could allow him more plays, equaling more fantasy points.

9. Arrelious Benn, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Benn, a rookie out of Illinois, is likely to have a starting receiver position in Tampa Bay this season.

10. Jimmy Clausen, QB, Carolina Panthers: Clausen, out of Notre Dame, won’t be the main man, but is likely to get some plays.

Honorable mentions are Jonathan Dwyer, Emmanuel Sanders, Joe McKnight, Anthony Dixon, Toby Gerhart, Mike Williams and Andre Roberts.
