Nicole Richie blogged on her Web site about ditching her brunette hair and returning to her shorter, blonde roots.
The former Simple Life reality TV star blogged, “Last night we played Clueless. Andy and George played Cher & Dionne, and I played Tai. ‘aaahhh!! project!’”
Apparently by “project” she meant getting a new hair cut and color by Andy Lecompte and George Papanikolas; Andy is a famed hairstylist in West Hollywood, and George is a signature colorist who both boast setting and reinventing trends for A-list celebrities such as Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Penelope Cruz, and Madonna.
Nicole told Usmagazine in December 2009 that she was ready for a change when she dyed her locks brunette. “I change my hair color all the time, and I hadn’t done it in a few years,” she said. “With the babies, I just really hadn’t had time. I’m so used to having that change all the time, and I hadn’t done it in about two years, so I was just ready and sick of being blonde!”
Switching up hair color is just another way for Nicole to define herself as a style icon as well. Since April 2007 she’s designed accessories, jewelry and sunglasses for her line, House of Harlow 1960. She has extended her brand to include apparel and shoes in spring 2010 and won Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2010 Glamour “Women of the Year” Awards in London.
