Hair-care company Head & Shoulders has taken out a $1 million dollar insurance policy on the massive hair of Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu’s hair, who started endorsing their product last year.

NFL star Troy Polamalu has not cut his hair in 7 years and has no intentions of cutting it anytime soon. However, that does not mean Polamalu’s can’t get damaged out on the football field.

“Head & Shoulders has gone above and beyond by insuring my Samoan locks for a cool $1 million dollars,” Polamalu said. “This reinforces that my full and thick hair is unstoppable.”

Polamalu taking 45 minutes before the NFL games to care for his hair has become a ritual, who explains, “It’s correlated to what a warrior in the past would do to prepare for war. You have the Mongolians, the Japanese Samurai, the Spartans–all of these warriors with long hair…and in that way you can almost get into the mind-way, preparing for some type of battle when you are doing your hair.”

I don’t get how this works: If his hair is damaged, can he no longer play football? If someone pulls some of his hair out, does he get $1 Million? This is advertising, like j-lo’s legs or something.
