2010 CMA Awards Nominations were announced Wednesday morning, with country singer Miranda Lambert making history with a record 9 nominations.
Miranda Lambert’s nine CMA nominations is the most ever for a female country recording artist.
Lady Antebellum came in second place with five nominations, while Blake Shelton came in third with four.
Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert’s fiancé, will be competing against Lambert in three of the four categories he is nominated for.
Among Lambert’s many nominations is Entertainer of the Year, which is considered to be the highest award given out at the CMAs. Other nominees for Entertainer of the Year include Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, Zac Brown Band, and Keith Urban.
“Wow,” Lambert said, when it was announced that she was nominated for Entertainer of the Year. “I just can’t believe it.”
Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley will be hosting the 44th Annual CMA awards, set to air live on Nov. 10, 8/7c on ABC.
