Rapper T.I. and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, were arrested late Wednesday night in Hollywood after police detected marijuana coming from their car.
T.I. (whose birth name is Clifford Harris) and wife Tameka were pulled over on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood on a routine traffic stop. Deputies smelled marijuana coming from his vehicle, so they pursued a drug investigation which led to the arrests.
“Deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle,” the department said. “A narcotics investigation ensued” and the arrests followed.
T.I. and Tameka were booked for possession of a controlled substance and were released on $10,000 bail early Thursday morning.
T.I. just completed his jail term in March for federal weapons charges. He spent seven months in prison and three months in a halfway house. He was under supervised release when he was arrested last night.
Under the terms of his probation, T.I. was ordered not to commit any crimes in federal, state or local jurisdictions and barred from illegally possessing a controlled substance.
