Beckham is no longer simply known as Posh Spice, or David Beckham’s wife, but she is making a name for herself as a fashion designer. With her recent nomination as the designer brand of the year from the British Fashion Council, combined with making the front cover of The New York Times’ Sunday Styles section, Posh is certainly on a fashionable roll.

She revealed the one simple rule she follows to earn her success, “I don’t do anything by halves. If you’re going to do something, do it properly, I think. Otherwise there is no point in doing something at all.”

She tells Times that her philosophy helped her design her popular dresses, coveted by stars like Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez.

“I might get a piece of fabric and tie it around me, then ask an assistant to pin it for me. I’m not claiming to be a master draper. The bottom line is: Would I wear this?”

Even while Beckham insists that she has “a long, long way to go” as a fashion designer, her attention to detail has allowed her to succeed in earning the respect of fashion critics and retailers.

Posh tells Times that she also hopes to earn the respect of First lady Michelle Obama, saying, “I really would love to dress her.”

So while working with the rest of the Spice Girls on the musical, Viva Forever, Posh will be adding to her designs. What can’t she do?!

  1. Good for her. She was simply annoying before. At least now she has something real to be proud of.

A committed soap opera freak--err, fan, Rolla Bahsous was thrilled to begin her professional writing career writing about everything soaps. But her love for television did not stop at daytime! Rolla is excited to be using her guilty pleasure, following celebrity gossip, at Rolla's had a few encounters with her favorite celebs, including a fingertip brush and a "Take care, sweetheart" from Michael Buble, as well as a flying kiss from Nick Carter - in both incidents Rolla forgot how to breathe. Rolla's University of Toronto degree in communications, political science, and theater is evidence of her diverse interests. When she is not writing, Rolla enjoys her obsession with fairies, coffee shops, and working out, (while watching television, of course!).
