Speculation that Hopkins and Aniston were together began when they were spotted having dinner. Hopkins reveals that it was just a friendly meal.

“No, no, we’re just friends – just friends having dinner,” Hopkins, 40, told People at the Nautica Malibu Triathlon. “There’s a lot of friends I’d less rather go to dinner with,” he joked.

Rumors began since Hopkins was spotted paying for he and Aniston’s dinner, but Hopkins explained, “Well I’m a southern gentleman, so I had to do that.”

Hopkins was certainly flattered to be rumored with Aniston, who was recently seen out with Lindsay Lohan’s ex, Harry Morton. “There are worse people to be in a rumor with,” Hopkins said.

Aniston recently guest starred in Cougar Town, alongside her pal Courteney Cox. When Hopkins saw them together, he was amazed at the real dynamic between the Friends co-stars.

“They are both such iconic TV figures and actors,” he said. “Any time I see them [together] … all the Friends stuff showers over [you] – and they act so well together. They are like best friends so [filming] was such a joy and I know they were having so much fun.”

Hopkins, who says he’s still single, admitted, “It’s my 40th birthday today. I’m actually going to Courteney’s. She’s having a little barbeque.”

He sure does look good for a 40-year-old. Happy Birthday Josh Hopkins!
