LeAnn Rimes explains why she cheated on ex-husband, Dean Sheremet.

Rimes fans were surprised when news broke that she and Sheremet ended their marriage. Fans were even more shocked at the way she ended it.
Rimes states that Sheremet was “great” but the couple couldn’t make their marriage work.
The country singer bares all in the October issue of Shape. “I understand why people are disappointed in me, especially since I grew up as America’s sweetheart. I think any relationship is hard to get out of, and I don’t think the way I did it was right.”
Rimes and Sheremet’s eight-year marriage fell part after Rimes began seeing actor Eddie Cibrian. In June, Rimes admitted to People, “I did one of the most selfish things that I possibly could do, in hurting someone else.”
Rimes thinks getting married young was the reason her marriage didn’t work.
“It wasn’t a fulfilling marriage for either of us. As we got older, we grew apart.”
Rimes finalized her divorce in December. She says she learned some important lessons in “cultivating strength from rough situations.”
“After going through this, I know I can face anything,” Rimes says. Cibrian and Rimes are now living together.
