Lauren Conrad must’ve cried “reality television” wolf when she turned her back to MTV’s The Hills. The original Laguna Beach star seemed to give off the impression that her career is more serious and successful than reality TV, but when it’s – not, she comes crawling back to the cameras.
This time around it’s not called reality TV, The Hills or Laguna Beach; it’s called a “docu-drama,” the new “it” word replacing the stigmatized “reality show.” Prior to her “docu-drama” hitting the media and the tube, Lauren’s been busy post life with the crew, Audrina, Brody, Lo, and Stephanie… She’s written three novels “L.A. Candy,” “Sweet little Lies” and “Sugar and Spice.” “Sugar and Spice” will hit shelves and hopefully stay there on October 5. Other projects include guest-starring as a judge for America’s Next Top Model and launching her Kohl’s clothing line, LC Lauren Conrad. But when approached about another future show?
“I wouldn’t do a show like ‘The Hills,’ ” she told MTV News last year. “Nothing with my personal life, but possibly something hosting. I think I have a little bit of time to figure out what I’m going to do next.”
“The only other thing I’d love to do right now is producing,” she later explained. “I’m just kind of looking for the perfect project because I think the first thing I do I really have to love, so I want to wait until I really have enough time to commit to a series.”
Eventually Lauren in a recent statement exclaimed, “I am so excited to be rejoining the MTV family. The new project will follow me as I develop my new contemporary line and also touch on my other businesses.”
Does anyone remember on Laguna Beach when Lauren was failing high school?
