Life As We Know It’s leading man Josh Duhamel knew that he shouldn’t have stepped foot in a strip club, a decision that eventually pegged him as the Hollywood husband who cheated on Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie. The “incident” – that never happened – left Josh remorseful, saying that his wife, “didn’t deserve that.”
In an interview with USA Today’s Andrea Mandell, Josh Duhamel, who is portrayed as a softie baby lover, said that his cheating accusation is “not something I like to talk about… Definitely one of the most difficult periods I’ve ever been through.”
Last year in November a stripper in Atlanta claimed that she had slept with the Transformers actor, and Josh endured infidelity rumors for months. The National Enquirer was first the point the finger. He emotionally addressed the event by adding, “I walked into that place, and I never should have done that. That was my mistake, you know, and I’ll never do it again. But you can’t help what people are going to do, and you can’t tell what people are going to do for money. That was the biggest thing I learned. I was like, ‘Wow, these people really exist.’ If they make money, they’ll do it. And so the hardest part is that my wife had to go through all that.
Among all the tearful gibberish about “money” and “these people,” we can only gather that Josh never cheated, and he’s always been a loyal husband. And to back up his good guy image, his Life As We Know It co-star Katherine Heigl describes Josh as a marriage and family man. “He’s that guy,” she said. “I think he really believes in family.”
Lesson learned? Don’t walk into strip clubs, and strippers will do anything for money.
