Taylor Swift’s Apologetic Song to Taylor Lautner

Though the two Taylors’ romance is over, it may not have ended so smoothly.

The Taylors on the set of Valentine's Day.

Swift and Lautner were dating briefly last December, after they had met on the set of the romantic comedy, Valentine’s Day. The couple had reportedly parted on friendly terms, but Swift’s new song, “Back to December” suggests that she’s apologizing to Lautner.

In the new ballad, Swift, 20, sings, “So this is me swallowing my pride, Standing in front of you saying I’m sorry for that night.”

Swift discussed the song with E! News, admitting, “It addresses a first for me. I’ve never apologized to someone in a song before … The person I wrote this song for deserves this. This is about a person who was incredible to me – just perfect to me in a relationship – and I was really careless with him.”

Sweet Taylor Swift being careless? That’s shocking.

First she writes a song for Kanye, and now for Taylor Lautner. Will the release of this ballad see the Taylors back together? Stay tuned.

Rolla's University of Toronto degree in communications, political science, and theater is evidence of her diverse interests. When she is not writing, Rolla enjoys her obsession with fairies, coffee shops, and working out, (while watching television, of course!).
