Anne Hathaway revealed that she has “no trouble” getting naked on-screen, like she had to do for her next film, Love and Other Drugs, co-starring Jake Gyllenhaal.
“These are people who have no trouble taking their clothes off – in a way their bodies are their currency. But they’re terrified of exposing their vulnerability – of becoming emotionally naked,” Hathaway, 27, told Vogue magazine.
After more than 2 years since her ex-boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri, pleaded guilty to 14 counts of conspiracy, fraud, and money laundering, Hathaway admitted that she couldn’t forget her ex when she filmed Love and Other Drugs, which is about trust in relationships.
Hathaway told Vogue, “I was a wreck from start to finish. I think I cried every single day … Gosh, I hate talking about the breakup, because I don’t want it to define me, but as is to be expected, there were a lot of lingering trust issues, and I think that making a film about trust that required a great deal of trust – well, it was a challenge to get there.”
Hathaway is still working on trust in her new relationship with her current boyfriend, Adam Shulman, 29. The pair was first spotted together in June 2009.
“When I begin a relationship, there’s that pressure to be the most, to be more comfortable and open than anyone else. When you finally realize that you can just be your own scared, f-ked-up self and that you can still be sexy without trying to be, it’s such a great relief – when uncondensed you is enough.”
