Pop star singer Justin Bieber is the subject of a laser tag altercation and was allegedly pegged as having punched a 12-year-old boy during the game. Although as more reports are released, Bieber may have actually been the victim.
Laser tag is no joke. Justin Bieber now is aware of that since finding himself in the middle of a heated debacle surrounding an altercation seemingly started because of harrassment and homophobic remarks.
Reports state that teenage boys surrounded Bieber as their laser tag target, and to avoid getting hit, Bieber jet through the group and either accidentally knocked over the boy or hit him in the face. The boys father reported the incident to police. No medical attention was necessary.
But there’s a deeper element to the story. Mtv.com states that the boy had “used an anti-gay slur against Bieber.” Unnamed sources have told TMZ that the episode went down at Planet Lazer, a laser tag chain that has a location in Richmond, British Columbia. The website reported that Bieber was targeted by an overzealous laser tag participant who lobbed an anti-gay slur at the teen idol. When the 12-year-old stuck his hand out toward Bieber, the pop sensation apparently batted it away and then left the center.
Does this boy know who Bieber hangs with? I cannot imagine that Usher and Luda have taken this news lightly.
Also TMZ reports that the 16-year-old star plans to take a stand against homophobia after realizing how hurtful it can be to be bullied, regardless of his own sexuality. Although Bieber is straight, he understands now what it is like to be on the receiving end. The teen hearthrob plans to speak out about the incident and publicly rally support for his anti-bullying campaign.
For a positive turn, Bieber remains on top. His 3-D Never Say Never film will be released February 11. Fans can read about their favorite singer by owning their own copy of Justin Bieber: First Step 2 Forever: My Story. He has four American Music Award nominations, and via Twitter, he hinted that a Christmas or holiday album may be in the works.
