Kim Novak, best known for her memorable role in Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller, Vertigo, was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Novak’s manager, Sue Cameron, says she is expected to make a full recovery.
“It was caught early by a routine yearly mammogram, and [she] is undergoing treatment. All her doctors say she is in fantastic physical shape and should recover very well,” Cameron told the Hollywood Reporter.
Novak, 77, the top movie star in the 1950s had retreated from acting. She and veterinarian husband Bob Malloy settled for a quiet life on a ranch in Oregon. They had married in 1976.
Her other notable films include Picnic, Pal Joey and Bell, Book and Candle.
