Hereafter, a film starring Matt Damon, will be released in theaters nationwide Friday, October 22, 2010.
In the movie Hereafter, three people are touched by death in different ways. George is a blue-collar American who has a special connection to the afterlife. On the other side of the world, Marie, a French journalist, has a near-death experience that shakes her reality. And when Marcus, a London schoolboy, loses the person closest to him, he desperately needs answers. Each on a path in search of the truth, their lives will intersect, forever changed by what they believe might–or must–exist in the hereafter.
Hereafter stars Matt Damon, Cécile De France, Jay Mohr, Bryce Dallas Howard, George McLaren and Frankie McLaren. This movie is directed by Clint Eastwood.
Hereafter received mixed reviews from the critics.
“The movie drags, yet it feels like it’s missing an hour. It features three characters on three continents who barely interact with one another. And after 130 minutes, it stops without concluding.” -Kyle Smith, New York Post
“Eastwood’s latest is serenely, even masterfully eccentric — the sort of movie that begins with a tsunami and ends with a kiss.” -Ty Burr, Boston Globe
“The viewer waits, at first expectantly and later with increasing irritation, as the disparate story strands are forced together in the “are you kidding?” finale.” -Liam Lacey, Globe and Mail
“Clint Eastwood’s Hereafter considers the idea of an afterlife with tenderness, beauty and a gentle tact.” Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
