Brand, 35, and Perry, 25, are officially husband and wife. The couple’s rep issued a statement, saying they “were pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Brand on Saturday, October 23.”

According to their rep, the lavish Indian ceremony was held on a private luxury resort and “was performed by a Christian minister and longtime friend of the Hudson Family. The backdrop was the inspirational and majestic countryside of Northern India.”

Earlier that day, two elephants named Laxmi and Mala reportedly walked the red carpet at the resort. The entrance of the resort was lined with lit up trees.

People magazine reported that the sound of Indian instruments and the singing of traditional Rajasthani folk musicians, along with sacred Vedic chanting were heard from the Aman-i-Khas resort.

The couple’s wedding celebration reportedly lasted more than one day. On Friday, Brand and Perry held a Bollywood-themed party at the Aman-i-Khas resort. Brand sported a white “kurta pyjama,” an Indian ensemble of loose pants and a long tunic. Perry wore a red sari.

Wedding guests were also treated to song and dance performances, shopping, and even safaris.

Brand and Perry were engaged in January 2010, a few months after their romance began in September 2009.
