After filing for divorce from his wife Tish after 17 years of marriage, Billy Ray Cyrus wants joint custody of Miley Cyrus and her siblings.
In the legal divorce documents he filed, Cyrus, 49, asks to “share the care, custody and control” of he and his wife’s three youngest children, Noah, 10, Braison, 16 and 17-year-old Miley.
While the documents Cyrus filed state that he “has no information of any custody proceedings,” the reasons for the divorce are listed as “irreconcilable differences.”
Cyrus’s Twitter shows that he has been getting spiritual after his marriage broke down, posting scripture from the Bible. Cyrus Tweeted, “He will cover you with his feathers and under his wings you shall take refuge. Truth will be your shield and buckler.”
Cyrus also asked fans to pray in another of his Tweets, “Can I ask for your prayers this morning for my children…our troops…the hungry…the sick…the homeless. AMEN. (sic)”
Cyrus and Tish were married in December 1992. Besides the three children they had together, the couple also raised Tish’s two kids, Brandi and Trace, as well as Cyrus’ son Christopher, from a previous relationship.
