E! host Giuliana Rancic and her husband Apprentice winner Bill Rancic recently shared their sad story of devastation when Giuliana suffered a miscarriage in the eighth week of pregnancy. After the miscarriage, Giuliana and Bill took some time off from trying for a baby and now say they are ready to try again.
The couple began speaking out about their pregnancy struggles a few months ago and it has become the main topic of their reality TV show, Giuliana & Bill, on Style network. A visit to The View in August led to the public discussion about the alternative methods they were trying, such as intrauterine insemination and in vitro fertilization (Click here to read about Giuliana and Bill’s struggles, visit to The View and more). The alternative methods worked, with Giuliana getting pregnant; but the couple was devastated with a miscarriage after eight weeks of the pregnancy.
After dealing with that tragedy, the couple said in an interview with PopEater, that they have reconnected with each other and are feeling optimistic about trying for their first child again.
“We’re ready to try again and we feel more optimistic than ever that we will have good news in the New Year. 2011 is our year,” Bill says.
“From this experience we’ve learned everything really does happen for a reason and God works in mysterious ways. When we do get pregnant again, that will be the baby we were supposed to have and we will never take parenthood for granted,” says Giuliana.
“We took a much needed break from all the fertility stuff to connect with each other again. We had been trying for so long to have a child that the whole process had consumed us. A break was crucial to make sure our marriage stayed strong and as fun as it always was,” Bill reveals to PopEater.
Giuliana agrees that taking a break from “worrying about shots, doctor’s visits, ultrasounds and blood tests was just what the doctor ordered.”
“Since the loss, we love one another even more than before and our marriage is the best it’s ever been,” Bill says.
Since Giuliana and Bill have shared the story of their miscarriage, they have received thousands of email from people sharing similar stories and offering words of encouragement and support.
We wish this wonderful couple the best of luck!
