Week eight of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars season 11 will air Monday, November 8 and feature the top 5 couples performing two routines each – one of which will have a new twist.
On tonight’s episode of Dancing with the Stars, the couples will be performing two dances – one ballroom dance routine and one “instant dance”. The “instant dance” is where “the couples will have to master a Latin number to music they’ve been given for the first time and after the show’s broadcast has begun.”
This is what has leaked regarding tonight’s performances:
Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy – Waltz for their ballroom number and their instant dance has not yet been revealed.
Maks tells ET, “We’re doing the waltz as our main dance and then there’s this new crazy thing where they’re going to give us the dance after the show tonight but they won’t give us the music. So we’re going to have to prepare a dance without the music and get the music next Monday during the show and…we’ll have 20 minutes to prepare our dance.” Maks doesn’t sound too happy about this new twist.
Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough – Quickstep for their ballroom number and their instant dance has not yet been revealed.
Jennifer Grey seems up to the challenge and ready to step up her game even further, telling ET, “I have one thing to say to the competition: The gloves are off.”
“The jive is one of the hardest dances to master,” Lacey tells Entertainment Tonight. “It is fast. The energy has to be up. There are so many things to remember in one step. Throw in on top of that we don’t know what song we are getting, we don’t know how long we are dancing for, and we don’t know the speed of the song, we are going in blind. You can’t just do basic dance moves. It has to be exciting.”
Kurt Warner seems a bit stressed about the new instant dance, telling TV Guide, “I don’t really understand why. It’s hard enough to learn two dances – well, it’s hard learning one – but to learn two different kinds and to throw this wrench into it, I don’t understand the purpose. For me, it’s so hard to hear the music because I’ve never done that before. Maybe it’ll be an advantage because I don’t hear the music anyway, or maybe it’s going to be harder since I usually pick up some of the timing by hearing music during the week. I’m just kind of dumbfounded of what the purpose is.”
Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas – Argentine Tango for their ballroom routine and the Samba for their instant dance.
