The 44th Annual Country Music Awards, hosted by country music stars Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley, aired live on ABC on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 in Nashville, Tennessee. The biggest winner of the night was Miranda Lambert, taking home four awards.
Highlights of the night included Taylor Swift’s performance of My December (her song about former boyfriend Taylor Lautner) and Gwyneth Paltrow’s live country music debut.
Miranda Lambert, who was also celebrating her 27th birthday last night, won Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Video of the Year. Lambert’s fiance Blake Shelton won two awards himself last night, taking home awards for Male Vocalist of the Year and Musical Event of the Year, for Hillbilly Bone with Trace Adkins.
Taylor Swift did not win any awards last night, being that her latest album, Speak Now, was released too late in the year for consideration. She is expected to make a sweep next year.
