Even though Gibson’s cameo was scrapped, Neeson says that Gibson is ‘cool’ about being replaced.

The sequel’s director, Todd Phillips, let Gibson go after receiving complaints from his cast and crew (read more here).

Neeson told Access Hollywood that Gibson isn’t mad about the change, “I spoke to Mel. Mel’s cool about it. We’re all cool.”

Hangover star Bradley Cooper apparently suggested that Neeson take the role after they starred together in The A-Team.

Neeson didn’t give any details about his role in the sequel, but dismissed rumors that he’d play a tattoo artist.
