Lindsay Lohan Loses ‘Inferno Role,’ Replaced by Malin Akerman

Malin Akerman, 32, is now playing the role of X-rated star Linda Loveface in the biopic movie Inferno.

Director Matthew Wilder had supported Lindsay, 24, during her imprisonment and rehab; however, decided to move forward without the actress as she goes through treatment in a Los Angeles facility for drug addiction.

“I understand people’s exasperation,” he told MTV News this fall. “I share it. But there is a tremendous gift underneath all the obvious baggage.”

Despite any talent, Lindsay’s addiction issues have undoubtedly put her career on pause.  “We have stuck by Lindsay very patiently for a long time with a lot of love and support,” Wilder said. “Ultimately, the impossibility of insuring her — and some other issues — have made it impossible for us to go forward.”

Although Lindsay was their number one choice, Wilder expressed to RadarOnline that the project did have a Plan B, and he was communicating with other actresses. Wilder addressed that Malin Akerman of 27 Dresses and Couples Retreat will be the new Ms. Loveface.

Wilder wrote on his Facebook, “We are so honored to have Malin and know that she will kill it.”
