Heath Ledger in New Batman Film?

Heath Ledger might make a cameo in the third Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises.

Showbiz Spy reports that director Christopher Nolan may have Joker return to Gotham, and he wants the late Heath Ledger to reprise the role.

Ledger passed away at the age of 28 in 2008, from a drug overdose. He won a posthumous Oscar for playing the Joker in The Dark Knight.

Now, Nolan reportedly wants to combine CGI effects with unused footage of Ledger in character from his days of playing the Joker.

An insider explained, “The idea is to use these fragments of cut scenes and use CGI to have The Joker appear one last time. Chris wants some continuity between movies and for the franchise to pay tribute to Heath and his portrayal of the Joker.”

The insider went on to explain that Ledger’s cameo appearance in The Dark Knight Rises will only go forth if Ledger’s family approves. “It would only be a fleeting moment in the movie and would only be included with the full consent of Heath’s family.”

While the idea is interesting and may help to pay tribute to Ledger, it also seems a little eerie. Thoughts?
