Jessica Simpson’s Clothing Line Nearly Making $1 Billion in Sales

Jessica Simpson’s fashion line is expected to generate $1 billion in sales next year, which has proven itself to be a highly successful celebrity brand amongst her other less than lucrative endeavors and endorsements.

As 2010 wraps up, Jessica’s collection earned more than $750 million this year - and the newly engaged celeb is planning on expanding her growing empire.

“She is the girl next door and has great products that surrounds her,” said Vince Camuto, founder and chief executive officer of Camuto Group - the brand’s master license. “People like her. People look at her as a style icon.”

Jessica’s affordable line that includes shoes, handbags, clothing, accessories and fragrance has the star laughing all the way to bank (and to the altar) as she’s recently endured weight gain and poor fashion choice criticisms and tragic single girl status.

Perhaps influenced by her NFL player fiance Eric Johnson, the Jessica Simpson Collection is bringing a sportswear line on board, which will be sold in addition to her other items that include luggage, intimates, jewelry and coats. The new sportswear will be available in fall 2011.

According to a press release from The Jones Groups Inc., “this new, contemporary line encompasses various categories, including jackets, woven and knit bottoms, tops, dresses and skirts.  Each look captures the essence of Jessica Simpson’s flirty, feminine and sexy style for the fashion-forward consumer.”

“We are thrilled to launch Jessica Simpson Sportswear, which is the next step in creating a complete lifestyle brand,” added Vince Camuto of Camuto Group. Camuto Group is an organization that designs, develops and distributes women’s fashions footwear. The organization licenses the Jessica Simpson Collection. Both the Jones Group Inc. and Camuto Group have entered into an agreement together to license the new sportswear line for the collection.

Jessica said about the latest addition to her collection, “Since entering the fashion industry, I’ve envisioned including a sportswear line in my lifestyle brand.  I am thrilled to be broadening my collection with the help of such talented partners.  This new sportswear line reflects my evolving style, which combines comfort, femininity and flirty fun.”
