The night started with all ten groups giving a high energy performance together, singing I’ve Got the Music in Me.

The theme for the first show was signature songs. Each group was asked to sing something that showed off both their musical ability and personal style and two groups would be sent home by the end of the night. The judges, Ben Folds, Nicole Scherzinger and Shawn Stockman, must choose who gets eliminated.

Here is a list of what the ten groups sang Monday night:

Eleventh Hour – Baby by Justin Bieber

On The Rocks – Bad Romance by Lady Gaga

Groove for Thought – I Wish by Stevie Wonder

Pitch Slapped – Good Girls God Bad by Cobra Starship

Jerry Lawson and Talk of the Town – Save the Last Dance by The Drifters

The Whiffenpoofs – Grace Kelly by Mika

Men of Note – The Longest Time by Billy Joel

Street Corner Symphony – Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears for Fears

The Backbeats – If I Were A Boy by Beyoncé

Committed – This Love by Maroon 5

The two groups that were eliminated were Pitch Slapped and Men of Note.

What did you think of the performances and who do you think is going to win this season?
