Mark Wahlberg Celebrates ‘The Fighter’ With Cookies

Mark Wahlberg celebrated with cookies after he finished filming The Fighter.

Wahlberg, 39, put himself on a strict diet and exercise regime for over four years in preparation for his role as boxer Micky Ward in The Fighter.

He says he ate “everything,” after being on a strict diet for so long. “I just became obsessed with chocolate-chip cookies and stuff that I never really had any interest in eating [before],” Wahlberg told People on Friday.

Wahlberg’s wife, Rhea Durham, wasn’t pleased with his indulgences.

Wahlberg shares, “She said, ‘You might as well take care of yourself.’ But I needed a break from it. Certainly four-and-a-half years was very draining. I needed that time off, and now I need to get back in there.”

Wahlberg’s co-star, Christian Bale, also had to drop a lot of weight for his role in the fighter (read more).

A committed soap opera freak--err, fan, Rolla Bahsous was thrilled to begin her professional writing career writing about everything soaps. But her love for television did not stop at daytime! Rolla is excited to be using her guilty pleasure, following celebrity gossip, at Rolla's had a few encounters with her favorite celebs, including a fingertip brush and a "Take care, sweetheart" from Michael Buble, as well as a flying kiss from Nick Carter - in both incidents Rolla forgot how to breathe. Rolla's University of Toronto degree in communications, political science, and theater is evidence of her diverse interests. When she is not writing, Rolla enjoys her obsession with fairies, coffee shops, and working out, (while watching television, of course!).
