Amber Portwood of MTV’s reality show Teen Mom has been put in jail after criminal charges were filed against her for her physical altercation with her ex Gary Shirley.
“Domestic battery has an automatic 24 hold,” an officer at the Madison County jail in Anderson, Indiana said. “Even if someone pays your bond, you still have to wait 24 hours to be released.”
Portwood, 20, has been charged with three class D felonies, including two counts of domestic battery and one count of neglect of a dependent (the dependent being her 2-year-old daughter Leah). She was also charged with one misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. If convicted of all these charges, Portwood coud face up to 3 years in jail.
The fight Portwood had with Shirely was taped and aired on MTV’s Teen Mom.
