Rob Pattinson to Star in Cronenberg’s ‘Cosmopolis’

Robert Pattinson is taking the lead role in David Cronenberg’s new film, Cosmopolis.

Deadline reports that Twilight’s Pattinson is taking off his vampire gear to star in Cosmopolis, which is based on Don DeLillo’s novel.

Pattinson will play Eric Packer, a financial whiz who makes a risky financial move that could lead to his own death.

Colin Farrell was reportedly supposed to get the role of Packer, but left the project.

Pattinson, on the other hand, looks like he’s leaving his days as Edward Cullen to take on a more mature role. Pattinson reportedly picked the project because he admires both the work of Canadian Cronenberg, as well DeLillo.

Cosmopolis is also said to feature Marion Cotillard and Paul Giamatti.

The film is set to be released next year.
