Five-time grammy award winning singer Christina Aguilera will sing the National Anthem during the Super Bowl XLV’s pregame at the Cowboys Stadium in North Texas on Feb. 6.
“I have been performing the Anthem since I was 7 years old and I must say the Super Bowl is a dream come true,” Aguilera said. “I am really excited to be part of such an iconic event.”
In 2000, the Burlesque star performed during halftime for the Super Bowl XXXIV in Atlanta.
Famous Super Bowl national anthem singers have included Billy Joel, Diana Ross, Neil Diamond, Whitney Houston and Beyonce Knowles. Others honored to sing during the game’s pregame have included Harry Connick, Jr., Garth Brooks, Natalie Cole, Vanessa Williams, Luther Vandross, Jewel, Cher, Faith Hill, The Backstreet Boys, Mariah Carey and the Dixie Chicks.
The Black Eye Peas will perform in the 2011 Bridgestone Super Bowl XLV Halftime Show.
The Super Bowl game is the most-watched event on U.S. television. Last year more than 153 million viewers tuned in. If not a die-hard Green Bay Packers or Pittsburgh Steelers fan, at least you can tune in for Aguilera’s pipes and Fergalicious.
