Gossip Girl fans can now live out the elite New York social scene! “Gossip Girl: Social Climbing,” Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s latest Facebook game, allows fans to climb the social ladder with their favorite Gossip Girl characters.
“Gossip Girl remains a pop-culture phenomenon,” said Lisa Gregoria, Warner Bros. Television Group chief marketing officer. “Fans will relish the ‘Gossip Girl: Social Climbing’ game play, where they earn rewards by attending virtual fashion shows, sample sales, club openings, and classic events like the Assassin Party and Sweetheart Ball.”
How do you play?
After filling out a survey by Gossip Girl and receiving a nickname, users complete missions throughout Manhattan to earn points that reward them with a high social status in New York.
Users will work their way toward joining the ranks of the New York elite by attending events, associating and flirting with the right people, dressing fashionably and unleashing a wild side to get Gossip Girl’s attention. Users can even “purchase” items to boost their social agenda and earn points for higher levels.
“We recognize Facebook is a very important, growing platform for games, and for our first step in the space, we have made a fun game for hugely popular franchise Gossip Girl,” said Martin Tremblay, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment president.
Facebook gamers can also excite in MTV’s Skins’ entertainment check-in service: MTV Skins Captionbomb. Fans of the new racy show can interact with other fans and “unlock” cards to “play.” “Oregon Trail” and “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego” games will also be launching on Facebook in February.
