Men who don’t know what they want but who need to want something… Women are crazy but are men the needy ones? Brad Womack and his commitment issues returned to The Bachelor this season to find a connection and his future wife, yet reportedly, he proposed to his on and off-again ex-girlfriend just weeks before production.
Laurel Kagay, who dated Womack over the course of 8 years, reveals to Us Weekly that the bachelor proposed to her a number of times throughout their relationship. He most recently asked Kagay to marry him last summer before he started filming the ABC hit reality-dating show.
Womack’s repeated proposals indicate repeated rejections, which can break a man’s ego. Either someone loves to hear no or someone loves to hear marriage proposals.
“Even when we weren’t together, he would say how much he loved me and was going to marry me,” Kagay says.
The latest issue of Us reveals that Brad spent his summer trying to “woo her back” and told Kagay and her mother that he would “marry her right now.” When he, his therapist and his feelings left to start filming, he continued to send her e-mails.
“I’m sure the girl he picked would want to know that he was proposing to another woman right before he started taping the show,” Kagay tells Us. “I would want to know.”
A source close to the ex-couple confirmed the stagnant, romantic relationship between Kagay and Womack to E! News and added that they remain “in touch, as recently as a few weeks ago.”
Kagay dated The Bachelorette contestant and musician Wes Hayden who admitted to having a girlfriend while appearing on the show.
Womack, however, has publicly declared that not only is he a soul searcher, but he’s a one woman kind of guy who’s head over heels happy in love.
“When I say I’m in love, I mean it with every bone in my body,” Womack told E!, referring to The Bachelor. “I am happier than I’ve been in 10, 15 years. Not a single [regret]. I’m very much in love.”
