Oscar host Anne Hathaway and Across the Universe star Jim Sturgess are sharing the big screen in the upcoming romantic film One Day.
One Day tells the fairy-tale story of Dexter (Sturgess) and Em (Hathaway) who spend the night together after their University of Edinburgh graduation. Every year on the same day for twenty years, the couple revisit to see where the other is in life; although they aren’t necessarily together on that same day.
USA Today refers to the story as a British When Harry Met Sally. The two characters with polar-opposite personalities and chance meetings always love each other but can’t seem to make it work.
One Day is based on the best-selling novel written by David Nicholls.

One Day hits theaters on July 8.
Hathaway just signed on to play Catwoman Selina Kyle in Batman: The Dark Night Rises.
Glee producer Brad Falchuk recently announced that Hathaway will be making a guest appearance on the Fox hit show playing Kurt’s lesbian aunt.
Who knows what Sturgess has been up to (besides providing his voice for the owl Soren in Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole), but we’re very glad that he’s returning to the big screen.
