The lovable Malcom in the Middle star Frankie Muniz may not be as innocent and sweet as fans remember. The 25-year-old actor reportedly got into an argument with his girlfriend Elycia Turnbow that was so intense – he put a gun to his head and punched Turnbow, according to police reports.
TMZ was first to report that this past weekend in Phoenix, Ariz., Muniz “grabbed a gun and held it to his head, possibly with the intent of committing suicide.”
Turnbow called a bandmate who took Muniz went to the hospital for an evaluation. He returned home not too long after. The couple’s arguing resumed and Muniz punched Turnbow, throwing her into a wall while in the downstairs bathroom, filed police reports read.
The report also stated that the couple’s heated arguing was over “prior relationships.” Police impounded a black semi-automatic .380 handgun that was found in their home. Turnbow said she hid it while Muniz sought medical attention. Both were charged with disorderly conduct. If another hostile incident were to occur, the couple could face jail time.
A rep for the couple tells Usmagazine.com, “Frankie and Elycia had an argument a few days ago. The police were called to the residence. A gun played no part in the argument and was voluntarily given to the police for safekeeping. There were no bruises and neither left the residence. He was not suicidal. She was not assaulted. They have been together since the incident; are still together and are moving forward with their lives and with their relationship.”
Muniz denied any physical altercations and said that during the emotional confrontation there was just a lot of “yelling and screaming.” Muniz called the police because he was afraid things were “getting out of control.”
After Malcom in the Middle’s successful run on Fox, Muniz left acting to pursue a career in open wheel race car driving. He is also the dummer for his band You Hang Up. A day after the police report was filed, Muniz performed with You Hang Up at Martini Ranch in Scottsdale.
Still together indeed?
Muniz tweeted, “The table all set for Valentine’s Day dinner…I love @elyciamarie.”
