Aaron Buerge from Season 2 of ABC’s The Bachelor has filed for bankruptcy.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Buerge has filed for Chapter 7 level bankruptcy. He reportedly has $9.3 million in liabilities, with only $2.3 million in assets.
Buerge was briefly engaged to bachelorette Helene Eksterowicz. They had ended their engagement only weeks after the show stopped taping. The Associated Press reported that the couple had broken up in a New Jersey Starbucks.
The papers filed in Kansas City indicate that Buerge, who was president of First National Bank, and his wife Angie, a recruiter at Ozarks Tech Community College, made $17,216 a month. The former Bachelor also owns a grand piano bought for $15,000, a diamond wedding ring, and a gold pocket.
Looks like being on The Bachelor doesn’t set you up for life!
