Lindsay Lohan returned to court Wednesday for the felony grand theft charges she faces after allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace from a Venice, California jewelry store.
Judge Keith Schwartz told Lohan today that if she pleads guilty to jewelry theft and accepts the plea deal, she will have to serve jail time.
“I don’t care that you’re Lindsay Lohan,” Schwartz told Lohan bluntly.
“One of the things about me is that I treat everybody the same,” Schwartz said. “What I look to in sentencing is, ‘What is the prior record?’ In this particular case, there has been so much speculation in the press [that] I’m just going to tell you a couple of things: If you plead in front of me, you are going to jail. There might be an issue about the amount of time, but if the case settles here, you will be doing to jail.”
TMZ is reporting that the plea deal is for 6 months of jail time.
Judge Schwartz is requiring that Lohan return to his courtroom on March 10 with her decision to accept the plea deal or go before another judge for a preliminary hearing and later trial.
