Former Idol Hopeful Chris Medina to Perform on Jay Leno

Former “American Idol” hopeful Chris Medina is scheduled to perform on NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” Friday, February 25.

Chris Medina was sent home last night as the first 5 of the top 24 were revealed on season 10 of “American Idol”.

Medina, 27, has played in Chicago-area bands for more than a decade. He made quite the impact on the Idol judges and America. Medina’s fianceé Juliana Ramos was in a serious car accident in 2009, just weeks before the couple’s wedding. She was left with brain damage, and the wedding has yet to occur. Medina’s heartbreaking story and courage tugged at everyone’s heart strings, making him an early favorite.

Rickey Minor and The Tonight Show Band will accompany Medina on “What Are Words” – a song inspired by Medina’s love story. The track which was written and produced by Rodney Jerkins will be available online Thursday.

Tune in to ABC to see Chris Medina on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” at 11:35 p.m.-12:35 a.m. ET.
