Deadline Hollywood reports that Hurley will play evil scientist Veronica Cale who aims to bring down her rival, Wonder Woman, played by Adrianne Palicki. As of yet, Hurley’s part is meant to be a guest appearance since the British actress is still working out work visa issues.

Other cast members include Tracie Thoms and Pedro Pascal. Thoms, who used to be on Cold Case, has been cast as Etta, the personal assistant of Wonder Woman’s alter ego, Diana Themyscira.

Pascal, who has appeared on The Good Wife and Lights Out will play police officer Ed Indelicato, who becomes friends with Wonder Woman.

The original Wonder Woman starred Lynda Carter in the series that ran from 1975 to 1979. David E. Kelley’s remake will follow Wonder Woman as she tries to fight crime while balancing her executive career life.

Palicki was cast as Wonder Woman in February and even had the approval of Carter, who Tweeted, “Congratulations Adrianne!”

The new series to air on NBC will be set in modern day Los Angeles and is the first remake since the 1970’s hit.
