American Idol Season 10: Top 4 Elimination

American Idol season 10 continued Thursday, May 12, with the top 4 contestants performing. With only 4 amazingly talented contestants left, every elimination episode is certain to be a heart breaker.

On Wednesday night, the four finalists sang two songs, with Lady Gaga working as the guest mentor.

James Durbin got glowing reviews on both performances, but it wasn’t enough for America. After 72 million votes, James received the least and was sent home. Country singing contestant Scotty McCreery was in the bottom two with James.

“I worked so damn hard to get here and, God, I was really hoping to get there,” James said after the results were announced. “I did so much stuff that’s never been done on this show before … In my eyes, in my mind … I did what I came here to do, and that was to give metal a chance!”

James sang “Maybe I’m Amazed” for his encore.

Next week, the top three – Haley Reinhart, Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery – will compete for spots in the finale. Who do you think will make the top two?

Tune in to see the top three perform on American Idol next week on Wednesday, May 18 at 8/7c on FOX.
