M-Bone of the rap group Cali Swag District – best known for their hit song “Teach Me How to Dougie” – was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting Sunday night in Inglewood, CA.
M-Bone, whose real name is Mante Ray Talbert, was reportedly in his car in front of an Inglewood liquor store before midnight Sunday, May 15, when shots rang out. Sources say the shooter was driving down La Brea Avenue alone in his car when he fired.
It appears at this time that shooting was completely random and M-Bone was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Lt. James Madia says, “Another car pulled alongside, gunshots were fired, and the victim was struck twice in the head.”
Talbert died at a hospital.
M-Bone was just 22-years-old.
Members of Cali Swag District are asking that if anyone has any information regarding the shooting to report it to the police.
