An autopsy has revealed no cause of death for Grammy award winning singer Amy Winehouse, who died at the age of 27 in her London apartment on Saturday, July 23, 2011.
The autopsy was performed on Monday, July 25, at the St. Pancras Mortuary in London. Toxicology reports are expected to reveal more information, but the results will take weeks, leaving Amy Winehouse’s family, friends and fans with no answers any time soon.
It was reported that Winehouse was found dead in her bed around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Many were quick to assume it was a drug overdose, but a police source told People that there were no signs of drugs in the apartment.
A family spokesman said there will be a private funeral “for family and close friends” on Tuesday, July 25, at an undisclosed time and place.
