Singer Gavin DeGraw has been hospitalized after being assaulted early Monday in New York City.
DeGraw, 34, was assaulted about 4:30 a.m. in Manhattan according to police. The New York Post reports he was out with friends when he was attacked by a “pack of thugs” on the street and then hit by a taxi as he stumbled away.
DeGraw’s reps say in a statement: “Gavin DeGraw was assaulted … and was taken to the emergency room at Bellevue Hospital by ambulance. He is currently under observation. We have no additional information at this time.”
Police say DeGraw is in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital with a broken nose and cuts to his face.
DeGraw is scheduled to perform Tuesday night in Saratoga Springs, New York with Maroon 5 and Train.
“They don’t know yet if he will be okay to make the show tomorrow,” a source says.
