Amy Winehouse fans will be happy to know that Fred Perry will be releasing the “Rehab” singer’s Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 fashion collections, which she designed earlier this year.
Last month, Fred Perry said it would be placing it’s clothing collaboration with Winehouse on indefinite hold due to her sudden passing. The fashion house would only proceed with production of the remaining collections if her family gave their approval.
Today, Fred Perry said that it will go forward with Winehouse’s final collections for Fall 2011 and Spring 2012.
In a statement, Perry explained, “After much consideration and with the blessing of Amy’s family, we have decided to release the AW11 Amy Winehouse for Fred Perry Collection. Amy was passionate and dedicated to the collaboration, and her signature style is clearly stamped across each piece. Amy’s royalties and fees from both collections will be donated to the soon-to-be-established Amy Winehouse Foundation. Fred Perry will also make a seasonal donation to the Foundation.”
Winehouse was found dead in her London apartment on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the age of 27. The cause of death is still unknown.
