Producer Nigel Lythgoe has confirmed that Jennifer Lopez will return for a second season as a judge on the FOX singing competition show American Idol.
“I am delighted to say that all three judges, along with the brilliant host of American Idol is back for the next season,” Lythgoe said Wednesday on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show.
Lythgoe’s announcement means American Idol Season 11 judges will be Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez, joined by host Ryan Seascrest.
There are rumors that Lopez renewed her contract for $20 million – a significant pay raise over the $12 million she was paid last season.
American Idol auditions for the next season begin in a couple of weeks.
