Italian teen heartthrobs Il Volo have released their new 5 song EP entitled Christmas Favorites, which includes the group’s versions of “Silent Night,” “Panis Angelicus,” “The Christmas Song” (featuring Pia Toscano of American Idol fame), and other holiday favorites.
In addition, the Il Volo – Special Christmas Edition re-pack is now available exclusively on Amazon through CreateSpace’s Disc on Demand program, which creates the CD upon order. This package includes the Christmas Favorites EP as well as the group’s self-titled debut album, which was released earlier this year and debuted at #10 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.
Fans in Southeast Michigan and Central Canada can watch Il Volo’s concert at Detroit’s famed Opera House on December 7 at 8:00 p.m. on Detroit Public TV, with a national PBS airing beginning March 3, 2012.
About Il Volo
The group formed in 2009 after Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca appeared on the popular Italian talent show Ti Lascio Una Canzone, dazzling viewers with their flawless rendition of “O Sole Mio.” The boys then named their new group “Il Volo,” meaning “flight,” chosen to signify the feeling that these three young tenors were about to spread their wings and fly.
Their Italian debut, released in November 2010, was certified platinum in less than three months with no radio or video airplay and only a few television performances. Il Volo’s 12 tracks include both classic and new compositions, including their versions of a few Italian classics like “O Sole Mio,” and two new songs written specifically for the group by multi-platinum songwriter Diane Warren.
